This egregious bribery follows another event about 3 years ago:
Box Elder County data center’s projected daily heat equivalent to 23 atomic bombs
Water permit application has been withdrawn in order to avoid the 4000 protests by Utahns.
What motivates the withdrawal?
Avoiding acociuntability
Using a TERRIBLE new law put into place by UTah GOP lawmakers for precisely this situation.
HB 60 passed in 2026 legislature and it guts all protections from water right applications.
Deception and secrecy about Stratos Project is being exposed
1) Secret meeting with Governor Cox and others set the Stratos project in motion. THAT was long before the public became aware of anything.
2) Box Elder County first mentioned the project in a public commission meeting on April 22, 2026. At that meeting the agenda "camafoggedoughed" the extreme size, impact, scope of the project by allocating only 4 minutes of time.
3) No one understood the agenda-except for the 14 landowners who had been aproached inadanvce to sell their land to a misrepresented project by someone called Austin.
