Knowledge: More information about Renee Good killing

Minute by minute analysis of Renee's shooting and aftermath

Source

Shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.

Notable: Agents have no authority to order citizens around, as they did in this case.

Notable:  The illegal order given to Renee to ""get out of the car..."  occurred only 5 seconds before she was shot dead, with three point-blank shots.

Those shots were fired in rapid succession from safety by a rogue agent who violated DHS policy.

His violation of policy was not a mistake of a newby.  He has ~10 years in law enforcement.

ICE’s policy on shooting at moving vehicles

ICE’s current use-of-force policy prohibits its officers from “discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle” unless it is necessary to stop a grave threat. The policy is explicit that deadly force should not be used “solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect.”

The agent placed himself near the front of the vehicle despite agents being told not to do so, since about 2013.

"9:37:13 a.m.

Gunfire erupts

The federal agent standing to the front-left of the vehicle pulls out his gun.

The moment of the shooting is captured in at least four videos verified by ABC News. Three eyewitness videos emerged on the day of the shooting. A fourth, taken by the officer who shot Good, was obtained by ABC News on Jan. 9.

With his right hand on his drawn firearm, the federal agent's left hand is still on his phone, with both pointed at the Honda Pilot. He fires the first shot through the front windshield toward Good at 9:37:13 a.m., according to ABC News' metadata analysis.

About fourth-tenths of a second after the first shot, as the car continues to move forward, a second shot is heard.

Shots were spaced less than a half second apart.

Every aspect of the killing is shocking, including this one.

More than six minutes after shots rang out, local first responders are seen on video arriving at the site of Good's crashed Honda Pilot.

9:45:30 a.m.

Good is carried from the scene

Firefighters carry Good to the corner of Portland Avenue and 34th Street where they appear to begin administering CPR. Seven minutes later, Good's body can be seen on video being carried into an ambulance.

A physician on site was prevented from providing aid to Renee during the time that it might have saved her life (???).

After being shot, Renee was moved, roughly, to a location farther from citizens with phone cameras who were documenting the scene. WARNING-This little-know video angle is even more upsetting and graphic than the other videos of the killing.

After far too much time Renee was moved into an ambulance.  Meaningful aid did not occur for 10-15 minutes according to eye witnesses.

Omitted from the time line:  Reinforcements emerged to support ICE agents before anyone bothered to help Renee.

11:45 a.m.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issues a statement on social media saying that a "violent" rioter "weaponized her vehicle" and attempted to run over and kill an ICE officer in what the agency calls an "act of domestic terrorism."

Victim of killing was blamed for causing her own death and slandered by Trump administration less than two hours after she was shot, and

SOME ICE AGENTS are shocked by NOEM''s INSTANT PRESSER vilifying the victim of killing without ANY investigation

"“I don’t recognize my former agency. This is truly heartbreaking,” a veteran ICE agent told CNN. There also appeared to be lag between when the incident occurred and when agents approached to render aid. “Some agents get more extensive medical training, but for the average ERO agent it’s very limited. These shootings are also rare. This is not something they have experience with,” said former acting ICE director John Sandweg.

Federal agents lifted the woman out of the car and moved her elsewhere. Local police rendered aid when they arrived.  "

What DHS' own rules say on the deadly ICE shooting in Minneapolis

  • "Deadly force shall not be used solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing subject," the memo says. The guidance allows deadly force when: A) The person in the vehicle is "using or imminently threatening deadly force by means other than the vehicle"; or B) The vehicle is being driven in a way that's an immediate threat and no other objectively reasonable defensive option exists."
  • "DHS LEOs are prohibited from discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle," according to the memo, except in justified deadly force situations.
  • But states "can and do prosecute federal officials" when they break state law and their actions aren't authorized by federal law, said Bryna Godar, a staff attorney for the State Democracy Research Initiative at the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Investigation into the killing of Renee Good is unlikely to result on accountability because Federal Agents have too much immunity.

Why ICE agents face far less accountability than police

Congress can correct this wrong with new laws.

Google "Congress can hold ice agent accountable how change laws" to find numerous articles about the topic.

Congress can hold ICE agents accountable by passing new laws to increase transparency (like mandating uniforms/body cameras), reforming oversight, allowing lawsuits for misconduct (like the proposed NOEM Act to amend
42 U.S.C. § 1983), increasing training/education requirements, and using tools like the Congressional Review Act to overturn agency rules, with recent proposals focusing on ending qualified immunity and separating HSI from ICE.
Legislative Actions Proposed & Taken
  • NOEM Act: Allows victims to sue federal immigration officers for constitutional violations.
  • Ending Qualified Immunity: Bills like the "Ending Qualified Immunity for ICE Agents Act" aim to remove protections that shield agents from lawsuits.
  • Increased Transparency: Legislation seeks to require agents to wear uniforms, identify themselves, and use body cameras.
  • Restricting Authority: Bills aim to limit agent authority in sensitive locations (schools, hospitals) and keep Border Patrol at the border.
  • Reforming Agency Structure: The ICE Security Reform Act of 2025 proposes separating Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) into its own entity.
  • Congressional Review Act (CRA): Congress can use this to overturn agency rules.
Tools & Mechanisms for Accountability
  • Legislation: Passing new laws to establish clear rules, training standards, and consequences.
  • Oversight: Demanding explanations and investigations into agency actions.
  • Budgetary Power: Using spending bills to attach conditions or withhold funds.
  • Impeachment: Impeaching officials, though this targets leadership, not individual agents directly.
Why These Changes Are Sought
  • Allegations of excessive force, constitutional rights violations, and lack of transparency in operations.
  • Public demand for greater accountability and improved conduct from immigration enforcement.
By changing laws, Congress can directly alter the powers, responsibilities, and accountability mechanisms for ICE agents, shifting from internal review to external legal challenges and increased public oversight.

Investigation into the killing of Renee Good is unlikely to be fair and just

because Secr.s Patel, Bondi, and Noem are involved:

Kash Patel's FBI is covering up the killing and will no longer local officials to have access to "the scene evidence or case materials."

Recall that Patel is a former podcaster and social media creature, with minimal qualification, and an enormous scandal about his misuse to taxpayer funds to benefit himself and his girlfriend.

As of January 15, 2026 Patel is involved in 11 (ELEVEN) MAJOR scandals.   From Gemini AI:

kash patel scandals 2025 - 2026
Following his confirmation as FBI Director in February 2025, Kash Patel has faced a series of scandals involving the use of government resources for personal gain, large-scale personnel purges, and controversial investigative actions.

Misuse of Government Resources
  • 1. Unauthorized Use of FBI Aircraft: In November 2025, reports surfaced that Patel used an FBI Gulfstream jet for personal travel to events attended by his girlfriend, country music singer Alexis Wilkins. One notable trip involved a visit to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where the couple was photographed in a pink Lego Cadillac.
  • 2. SWAT Team Security for Girlfriend: Patel has been accused of misusing taxpayer resources by deploying an FBI SWAT team to provide security for Wilkins, a non-official partner.
Agency Purges and Retaliation
  • 3. Targeting Trump Investigators: Patel reportedly orchestrated a "purge" of senior career civil servants, specifically targeting officials who investigated Donald Trump or were involved in the January 6 Capitol attack probe.
  • 4. Lawsuits from Fired Officials: In September 2025, three former senior FBI officials sued Patel, alleging they were summarily fired as part of a politically motivated purge driven by social media pressure from Trump loyalists.
  • 6. Dismantling Accountability Units: Patel shut down the FBI's public corruption squad and a unit responsible for monitoring surveillance rule compliance, leading to internal concerns that the bureau has become "paralyzed by fear".
Controversial Law Enforcement Actions
  • 7. Search of Reporter's Home: On January 14, 2026, Patel faced intense criticism after the FBI searched the home of Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson and seized her devices. Patel later posted a "word salad" on social media bragging about an arrest related to the leak while indicating the investigation into the reporter's source was ongoing.
  • 8. Jeffrey Epstein Files Controversy: Despite promising transparency, Patel and the Department of Justice released a memorandum in July 2025 that dismissed many claims about Epstein's death and stated no "client list" existed. Critics accused him of continuing a "coverup" after he claimed to have reviewed 300GB of new data but decided against further disclosure.
  • 9. 3D-Printed Gun Gifts: During a July 2025 visit to New Zealand, Patel gifted senior law enforcement and cabinet officials 3D-printed "revolver" models based on a toy Nerf gun, which caused an international ethics stir.
Ethics and Foreign Influence Concerns
  • 10. Undisclosed Foreign Ties: During his 2025 confirmation, it was revealed Patel failed to disclose consulting work for the Embassy of Qatar and the parent company of the Chinese fast-fashion retailer Shein. He also reportedly held significant stock in foreign firms while serving as director.
  • 11. Russian-Friendly Documentary: Evidence surfaced that a Russian-friendly filmmaker paid Patel $25,000 to criticize the FBI in a documentary prior to his appointment.

I'd like to see eyewitness accounts of the shooting
Eyewitness accounts of the January 7, 2026, shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis largely contradict the federal government's claim of self-defense. Multiple witnesses and bystander videos indicate that Good was attempting to drive away from, rather than toward, the ICE agent when he opened fire
.
Direct Witness Testimonies
  • "Betsy" (Neighborhood Resident): Stated Good "posed absolutely no threat at all" and appeared to be attempting to leave the scene to get out of the way of the federal activity. She observed the agent yelling at Good, and as she accelerated to move south, he reached his arm into the driver's side and fired multiple shots.
  • Emily Heller (Neighborhood Resident): Reported seeing the agent standing in front of the car with his "midriff on her bumper" as she tried to turn around. Heller stated the agent reached across the hood and shot Good through the windshield three or four times at close range.
  • Caitlin Callenson (Bystander/Videographer): Observed that Good was initially ordered to leave, but an agent was blocking her path. She noted Good turned her wheel to the right (away from the agent) and was moving forward when the agent fired once from the front and twice from the side.
  • Medical Aid Denial: Multiple witnesses, including Callenson, noted that a neighbor who identified himself as a physician attempted to provide medical aid immediately after the shooting but was blocked by ICE agents who told him to "back up".
Key Contradictions and Video Evidence
  • Movement of the Vehicle: While federal officials alleged Good "weaponized her vehicle" to ram agents, bystander videos show the car slowly reversing and then pulling forward at approximately 2 mph.
  • Agent's Position: Video analysis by The New York Times and ABC News corroborates that Good was turning her steering wheel away from the agent, Jonathan Ross, at the time he fired.
  • Agent's Condition: Contrary to President Trump's claim that the agent was "viciously ran over," video shows Ross remained upright and on his feet throughout the encounter. Later federal reports claimed he suffered "internal bleeding to the torso".
Conflict in Orders
Eyewitnesses reported hearing conflicting commands from the various agents on the scene. Some agents allegedly shouted for Good to "get out of the f***ing car," while others told her to "get out of here". Good's family contends she was attempting to follow the instructions to leave when she was shot.
