Polls: Americans want federal agents defanged: the poils

American polls repudiate almost everything that federal agents do!

Democratic proposals for reform of Immigration agencies

earn supermajority support among U.S. voters

This level of support is UNREAL for Americans

WE URGE ALL OF THESE REFORMS -----AND MORE

Hey Kids, Is This an Ice Agent or Kidnapper?

New web-only comics curated by Comics Editor Matt Bors with art from Kirk Anderson, Ruben Bolling, Mattie Lubchansky and Jen Sorensen.

Homeland Security must ALSO be completely defunded.

The agents, their leadership, and the culture of these agencies have proven themselves so unspeakably violent, racist, anti-lbgtq, woman-hating, and completely lawless, that reform will fail. Proof is everywhere. A future blog post will explore this further

DHS agents are committing far more crimes than immigrants.  Stats are below, not just the thousands of videos documenting their cruelty,

"If there were law-enforcement agencies particularly ill-suited to anonymity, it would be Customs and Border Protection and the Border Patrol. From 2005 to 2024, nearly 5,000 CBP and Border Patrol officers were arrested, according to the journalist Garrett Graff, who testified about his findings to an accountability commission set up by the governor of Illinois. Information on the multitude of corruption-related charges faced by agents can be found on the CBP’s own website. “The crime rate of CBP agents and offices was higher PER CAPITA than the crime rate of undocumented immigrants in the United States,” Graff writes.” Statistically speaking, “worst of the worst” seems to describe CBP and the Border Patrol as law-enforcement agencies better than it does the people they’re rounding up."  SOURCE

The Real Reason ICE Agents Wear Masks

Face coverings may work less to protect federal agents from danger than to make it easier for them to do unconstitutional things.

DHS Agents are 5-6 times LESS LIKELY TO BE MURDERED THAN THE AVERAGE US RESIDENT!!!!

( “The chance of an ICE or Border Patrol agent being murdered in the line of duty is about one in 94,549 per year, about 5.5 times less likely than a civilian being murdered.”) FROM THE ATLANTIC:  THE  real reason agents were masks (hint, so they can do unspeakable things).

DHS must be defunded completely. Important tasks like FEMA and TSA can be shifted to other agencies.

EVENT: MEET NEW FRIENDS: Join up Event

We The People Cache Valley are sponsoring and organizing
a JOIN UP CLUB EVENT

Please mark your calendar and plan to find out more about social opportunities in our community.

Why is it important to visit and meet people in person,

face-to-face?

(Free podcast, January 22 episode)
  •  Professor Bob Waldinger is a psychiatrist at Harvard. He changed his life because this research showed the great power of being connected with people in person.
    • ONLINE connections do not have this effect.

  • We can all think of someone we miss and text them a short note. This usually brings smiles and positive results (suggestion from Dr. Waldinger).

  • Staying connected is not a big job (like going to the gym) it can be done with pleasure and modest effort.

  LEARN MORE:

The Documentary entitled "Join or Died" inspired this event.  Not Free, Netflix.  Invite your friends to watch this with you, or ask around for a friend with a netflix subscription who might invite you over for a watch party.

KEY FINDINGS:

  • Socially connected people live, on average, 3.7 to 15 years longer than those who are socially isolated and lonely.
    • Strong social connections increase the likelihood of survival by 50%, while chronic isolation acts as a health risk factor equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
    • Diabetes rates decline, heart disease is less frequent or less sever.
    • Societies flourish when its people are well connected.
    •
    • Democracies function better when its people are connected socially.

      • Things get done, people are satisfied, corruption is reduced, and the government serves the people.

We have a large network of Community organizations and Clubs in Cache Valley.

Indivisible of Cache Valley is hosting this event to bring us together with new neighbors.

Check out the facebook page for this event

Mill around among your neighbors and explore:
    • Tables providing information about Cache Valley's many clubs.
    • Each group will have a ~60 seconds to "sell their wares"
    • Posters will describe other opportunieis
    • This is a completely FREE EVENT
    • Family Friendly
    • Opportunities to envision other "ideal clubs"
      • IDEAS floated in our group so far:
        • Slow hiking club for the easily distracted?
        • Tech club for fans of computer?
        • Cat-lovers club?
        • Your idea here.

This event was created to help us get to know one another better,

to help fight the loneliness epidemic,

to promote the democratic process in our government,

    and to have fun.

PS:  The USU Geoscience Department is hosting a Rock and Fossil Day from 10-3.  Families with small kids may wish to plan accordingly.

It should be possible to sample both events and make twice as many new friends.
