Stratos Project in a nutshell:
Summary: Public statements by Stratos boosters are:
aspirational boasts,
magical thinking,
unscientific,
physics-defying claims,
engineering “misunderstandings”,
in conflicts with prior claims and documents,
and mostly a lot of down-right lies.
Promises of economic benefits appear to be very overblown when one considers the CONSIDERABLE experience of other communities.
Very little actual insight or technical planning appears to support the wild claims and propaganda being pushed by boosters.

The single (not really public) meeting about MIDA was on April 24th, 2026. A recording of the meeting reveals almost no technical insights, zero environmental discussions and PLENTY OF SELF-CONGRATULATORY DISCUSSION ABOUT HOOD-WINKING THE UTAH PUBLIC.
Here is the recorded meeting. Start at about minute 30.

The Salt Lake Tribune's editorial board explains the problem extremely well:
"Even if the data center isn’t as dreadful as feared — or if it never is actually built — the stench attached to the rushed and secret political process will take a very long time to dissipate. If it ever does."
We completely agree.
Utah's GOP leadership must be voted out of office.
