WORDS HAVE POWER:

Fascist power grab

No one is above the law

A constitutional Amendment is needed to undo unconstitutional ruling of ultra-right wing on the Supreme Court.

Corporate Democrats

Corporate Democrats are members of the U.S. Democratic Party who generally align with pro-business policies, often accepting significant campaign funding from corporate interests, rich donors, and sometimes Israeli lobbying. Pro labor policy, the 99%, affordable childcare, affordable housing, universal healthcare are opposed by many of them. Check the Integrity index to find out who gets corporate money.

Genocide

The actions of the Israeli government in GAZA, southern Lebanon and West Bank are genocide according to many informed group and experts.

Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction—in whole or in part—of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. (United Nations)

Self Emasculated

2025-2026 US Congress has “Self Emasculated”, and is handing over their power to the wanna-be king.

Event: Pot-luck dinner and social evening; Tuesday 5-8 Whittier Center gym.

Meet and greet others in the Democracy movement

We encourage everyone who longs for a return of law and order, EQUAL rights, constitutional freedoms, and democracy to join our community pot luck.

Bring something to share along with your curiousity to meet new people and join for sustained organizing.

Our community Cache Valley has 15 action committees you can consider joining.

WeThePeopleCV.org are one such action committee.  Other groups focus on supporting immigrants, counter-acting misinformation, activism to support the environment, and other great and vital causes.

This blog is for residents of northern Utah who care about one another, our country, democracy, and our planet. It is for people who believe no one is above the law. We value the differences among us, believe in the golden rule, and welcome the contributions of everyone with a loving heart.

WeThePeopleCv are Logan's Indivisible Group.  Our original goal was to organize weekend rallies, like No Kings marches and rallies.  We expanded into other roles in the winter months when we expected things would be quiet. Instead we hosted and supported three emergency rallies.

  1. Protesting the War in Venezuela,
  2. Protesting the execution of Renee Good and honoring her and
  3. Protesting the execution of ICU nurse Alex Pretti and honoring him.

Free and fair elections are vital.  Many of our members collaborate with BURRN.org.

Prop 4 repeal fails to make 2026 ballot after Utah voters pull their signatures

Thousands of Utahns have withdrawn their support for the effort to allow GOP lawmakers to gerrymander political boundaries.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

BURRN.org was one of many groups that coordinated for this current win for free and fair elections.

The Lt governor has the final say in this issue., and she has NOT RULES IN FAVOR OF VOTERS YET.

NEWS organizations are misrepresenting the current state of the petition effort with headlines like these

We must be vigilant and keep watch for more dirty tricks by the GOP of Utah.  This same group, after all, hired sketchy people who tricked voters into signing their petition to gerrymander by telling them they were do the opposite, they are ok with forged signatures of voters being used in their favor, and enacted a STAMP ACT that treats the gift of a postage stamp like a bribe.

Find out more here about DIRTY TRICKS, the Stamp act and how far to many Utah Lawmakers grasp for maximal power, have ZERO regard for utah voters.

Third No Kings Rally held Saturday in Logan

  •

"More than a thousand peaceful protesters gathered at the steps of the Cache County Historic Courthouse on Saturday for the third, nationwide No Kings Rally.

The Logan protest was organized by volunteers from We The People of Cache Valley, a local non-partisan, pro-democracy organization.

Jim Evans, the organization's co-leader, said this protest — and the two that came before it — are because of rising concerns over what protesters described as "king-like" actions from President Donald Trump and his administration.'"

NO KINGs protests are pushing back on the king-like behavior of the Federal government

"NO KINGs" is obviously a metaphor

Immigration Speech

Miriam's speech today -  in Spanish.  A similar speech was given in English by Nicole. As we continue to witness the systemic injustices and inequities woven into the fabric of our nation, a fundamental question emerges: what force is more potent, more transformative, than a community that decisively unites when injustice is observed, heard, and deeply felt? When a vital thread is violently ripped from the communal tapestry—when a community member is lost, unjustly targeted, or oppressed—we are not merely called to observe; we are morally compelled to take immediate, unified action and raise our collective voices until they become undeniable to speak up.

This imperative stems from a profound understanding of the human cost of oppression. Because when a mother is forcibly separated from her child, when a father is unjustly detained, or when children are traumatized by the ripping apart of their family unit, this act is not just a personal tragedy; it is another agonizing form of oppression. It is a chilling, calculated reminder—intended or not—that somehow, certain members of our society do not truly "belong." This feeling of being unwelcome persists even for those of us whose roots run deep into the soil of these lands, for those who are indigenous to this continent, and for those whose families have dedicated generations to building this country. Before me, my father, and my grandfather contributed their sweat, labor, and spirit to building the infrastructure, the industries, and the very foundation of this nation. Like the generations before many of you who came and built and struggled and opened the doors, they labored under the promise that their descendants could live freely, that we could pursue life, liberty, and the opportunity to live together, united and respected, in a truly just society. The fight for justice, therefore, is not a new battle; it is the continuation of a decades-long, generational demand for the promise of this nation to finally be fulfilled for all its people. Our unity is the only true shield against the forces that seek to divide and diminish us.

Susanne's speech:
explored 3 main reason that protests like ours matter:
1) protests make the enormous power and scale of the opposition visible to everyone.

Susanne added:

How can you have the most impact?
  1.  Ensure that our elections have impact, vote for fight-back candidates, Make Utah lawmakers listen to us. HOW? Make lawmakers a fair representation of the actual voters of our state!!! Get your friends to vote for freedom! Keep gerrymander GONE!!! Meet our candidates who are driven by patriotism and desire to promote true democracy.
  2. Support those of us who are immigrants-In Utah a key step is preventing a concentration camp from being built. Call state lawmakers and point out how devastating that would be for everyone-the economy, our health, liberties and so on. Miriam and Nicole will speak to this topic later.
  3. OPPOSE and STOP all the illegal wars and military actions. They are committing thousands of war crimes-call the "WAR CRIMES". Every dollar spent on Wars of CHOICE takes food from a hungry child, is taken from ill Americans, destroys our public lands, our clean air, pollutes our waters. Protest and call lawmakers.
  4. Support our local community with donations to food pantries, and other acts. By making whistles and getting everyone prepared to fight back.

FINALLY, let's talk about tactics:

We must USE and craft words of power. As you visit tables, candidates and gather information, we invite you to help us develop WORDS OF POWER at the boards on south lawn.

We can create more accurate and powerful phrases to describe the current states of our country!!!

Instead of a “Tax the rich” slogan we will have more impact if we call to “Prosecute the Epstein class!!!”

Immigrant derangement syndrome.  Paul Krugman identified this mindset as motivating so much of the illegal cruelty and killing. At least 76 people have died in Trump 2!!!!! We will win and we will stop this!!!!

Nuremberg Two is coming for the criminal ICE agents!

Concentration camps are prisons without actual justice or rule of law.

A brand new power phrase from Florida lawman: "Self Emasculated"
("The legislative branch for the first time in history has self emasculated. They have given up their power to the executive branch. ")

LET'S write more power words and phrases.

Since our founding in 2016, Indivisible has been rooted in the belief that organized people can beat organized hate—and that our power comes not just from our numbers, but from how we show up. From the start, we've been committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do: our protests, our organizing, and our advocacy.
We reject all forms of political violence and intimidation, no matter the source or the target. That’s not just a moral stance—it’s a strategic one. Movements that create lasting change do so by building trust, forging solidarity, and demonstrating discipline, even in the face of threats or attacks.
A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
