A fair number of the people who are held in immigration centers (usually without cause) eventually get released:. 

• Release occurs without resources (no food, water, communication, money, licenses, visa, or other legal papers):
• DHS AGENTS are stripping people of their vital immigration papers
• Release occurs after victims are robbed:

• After Stealing their mobile phones, after stealing their money, credits cards, wallets, and even their wedding rings.!!!

An example is a 55 year old grandmother who was  brutalized by ICE agents for observing ICE as they were violating the rights of her neighbors.

Based on reports from December 2025 and early 2026, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota removed a wedding ring from a 55-year-old American citizen, Susan (Sue) Tincher, by cutting it off while she was in custody. [1]

Here are the SHOCKING details of the incident:

• The Incident: On December 9, 2025, in North Minneapolis, Sue Tincher was observing and documenting an ICE raid, a common practice for community volunteers in the area.
• Detention: After asking officers if they were ICE, she was tackled, handcuffed, and taken to the Whipple Federal Building, where she was held for five hours.
• Removal of Ring: While in custody, agents cut off her wedding ring, along with removing her bra and boot laces, citing processing or safety rules.
• Aftermath: Tincher stated she did not interfere with or resist the agents. DHS alleged she tried to break through a security perimeter and assaulted an agent, which was disputed by reports.
• Lawsuit: Tincher became a plaintiff in an ACLU of Minnesota lawsuit against ICE regarding the treatment of observers. [2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

A federal judge later ruled that following ICE vehicles and observing their operations are protected activities, and the court indicated that such actions do not justify a vehicle stop or arrest by agents. [5]
